GP Investments’ board of directors is its collegiate decision-making body, responsible for the overall direction of its business, including its long-term investment guidelines. Among other duties, the company’s board of directors is responsible for appointing one or more directors for the position of managing director or CEO of the company, who shall, subject to its monitoring, supervise and manage all business and matters related to GP. All are elected at general meetings for a term of 2 years, re-election permitted.
Board of Directors
Mr. Lambranho is Chairman of GP Investments. He joined the firm in 1998 and became a managing director in 1999. Prior to joining GP, Mr. Lambranho was CEO of Lojas Americanas, where he worked for 12 years. He was also a board member from 1998 to 2003.
Mr. Lambranho currently serves on the boards of G2D investments Ltd as Chairman, Grupo SBF (Centauro) as Vice-Chairman, GP Advisors, Spice Private Equity and The Craftory. He is also a board member of several non-profit entities, such as MASP (Museum of art of São Paulo).
He has previously served as chairman of the boards of Oi, Contax, Gafisa, ABC Supermercados , Magnesita and GPAC (SPAC 2015). In addition, he previously served on the board of LEON Restaurants, RHI Magnesita, BRMalls, San Antonio, Allis, BHG, Estácio, BRZ Investimentos, Tele Norte Leste Participações, São Carlos Empreendimentos e Participações, Playcenter, Shoptime, Farmasa, BR Properties and Americanas.com.
Mr. Lambranho holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and a M.Sc. degree in business administration from COPPEAD-UFRJ. He also completed the Owner President Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
In addition to GP’s board, Alfred Vinton is a member of the boards of directors of several companies, including Hochschild Mining PLC, a Peruvian company listed on the London Stock Exchange, and Dinamia Capital Privado SCR, a Spanish investment company also listed on the stock exchange.
From 1995 to 2009, Mr. Vinton was the chairman of Electra Partners Limited, an international fund management company specializing in private equity, and of Lambert Howarth Group plc. Mr. Vinton previously worked for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank in the United States, South America and London and was senior vice president responsible for bank operations in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Mr. Gamboa joined GP in 2004 and has been a managing director since 2006. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for Submarino and Gradus Management Consultants. In addition to being a member of the board of directors of GP Investments, he is a member of the boards of Centauro and Allis. He also served as a board member of Fogo de Chão, Tempo, Submarino, LAHotels, ALL, Leitbom, Hypermarcas and Gafisa.
Mr. Gamboa holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Mr. Bonchristiano is a member of the board and CEO of GP Investments. He joined GP Investments in 1993 and has been a Managing Director since 1995. Prior to joining GP Investments, Mr. Bonchristiano was a Partner at Johnston Associates Inc., a finance consultancy based in London, and worked for Salomon Brothers Inc. in London and New York.
Currently, he serves as a member of the boards of directors of G2D, BR Properties, and Akad. Mr. Bonchristiano is also member of the Advisory Board of the non-profit organization: Bodleian Library (Oxford, UK). Previously, he served as a member of the boards of directors of AMBEV, BHG, Estácio, LAHotels, Sé Supermercados, ALL, Kuala, CEMAR, ABC Supermercados, Gafisa, Hopi Hari, Submarino, Equatorial, Geodex Communication, Sascar, BRMalls, Tempo, Magnesita Refratários, San Antonio International, Playcenter and Rimini Street.
He was also previously the Chief Financial Officer of SuperMar Supermercados and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Submarino. He was further vice-chairman of the board of directors of BR Properties, director of Geodex Communication, Contax Participações and IRO of ABC Supermarkets and GP Investments, Ltd. Mr. Bonchristiano holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
Mr. Wright is a former Management Board member of Dresdner Kleinwort and headed its global private equity activities. He is a director of Merifin Capital Group, a private European investment firm, and serves as Chairman of EMAlternatives in Washington DC.
Mr. Wright also serves as a co-founding board member of Roper Technologies Inc (NYSE) and as a non-executive director of Yatra Capital (Euronext). Finally, Mr. Wright is a Board Member of Spice Private Equity AG., and an Advisory Director of Campbell Lutyens Co Ltd, an investment banking firm.
Mr. Bonchristiano is a member of the board and CEO of GP Investments. He joined GP Investments in 1993 and has been Managing Director since 1995. Prior to joining GP Investments, Mr. Bonchristiano was a partner at Johnston Associates Inc., a London-based financial consultancy, and worked for Salomon Brothers Inc. in London and New york.
Currently, he serves as a member of the boards of directors of G2D, AMBEV and BR Properties. Rodrigo Boscolo is a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer at GP Investments. Mr Boscolo’s role encompasses deploying the firm’s proprietary capital in North America and Europe, as well as managing the firm’s global finance, treasury, technology, investor relations and corporate development functions.
Since joining GP Investments in 2010, Mr. Boscolo has led or was involved in multiple transactions in a broad range of geographies and industries, particularly in the technology, business services, consumer, restaurants and retail sectors. He also serves or has served on the board of directors of several portfolio companies, including Leon Restaurants, The Craftory, Food First Global Restaurants, Magnesita, Allis, Sascar and BRZ Investimentos.
Previously, Mr. Boscolo co-founded a group travel platform and worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Rodrigo earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School and an M.A. in International Studies from the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lauder Institute. Rodrigo also holds a M.S. from Euromed Management, in Marseille, France and a bachelor‘s degree in business from University of Sao Paulo.
Ms. Pedretti joined GP in 1997 as a trainee and, since 2001, she has been head of the company’s legal department. She became managing director in August 2008. She is currently a member of the board of directors of GP Advisors.
Graduated in Law, with a post-graduate degree in business law from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in São Paulo, Mara Elisa holds an MBA in financial and capital markets from IBMEC (Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais).
He joined GP Investments, Ltd. in 2019 and currently holds the position of Managing Director. He is also the Investor Relations Officer of G2D Investments, Ltd. and a Director of GP Investments Ltda. Previously, he was General Manager of Coursera LatAm, a leading education platform that provides courses from the best universities in the world to more than 21 million students. Previously, he was Managing Director of Wayra, the investment arm of the Telefonica Group, where he invested in and managed a portfolio of 35 companies. Carlos was part of the team that started Endeavor’s operations, where he worked for 10 years in Brazil and the US, where he was Vice President. Carlos is a board member of ACE, a startup accelerator, he is also a member of the Investment Committee of Big Bets Venture Capital, and is a board member of Instituto Brain Brain, Algar Group’s institute for innovation. Carlos served as Global Chapter Chair of H2, a network of global digital leaders founded in Silicon Valley and present in 9 countries.
Carlos has a degree in Business Administration from FGV in São Paulo and has post-graduate studies at Columbia Business School and a specialization at Harvard Business School.
